My name is Len Fishman. I have been a real estate appraiser in Sacramento, California since 1986.
I started my appraisal career by accident when I was working for Imperial Savings and Loan in La Jolla, California as their computer forms designer. Someone in the office told me what an appraiser was... and that sounded like an interesting job... So, I was transfered to Sacramento to become a junior appraiser. That was the beginning...
In 1991, I was appointed by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors to the Assessment Appeal Board. As an appointed tax judge, I am independent from the Assessor's Office, the Tax Collector and the Auditor's Office and free to resolve valuation disputes between tax payers and Sacramento County.
I also accept a limited number of expert witness cases based on merit. I provide forensic appraisal services including litigation support and mediation support. Each California real estate appraisal expert must remain unbiased when testifying in a real estate matter. Therefore, I cannot be an advocate for either side, unless I am hired as a consultant and not as an appraiser. As a consultant, I can consult with you and advise you about the relative strength of an appraisal presented by opposing parties.
Personal Information: I have been married for 22 years to my best friend, Corrine. Corrine is a part-time yoga instructor at various gyms and yoga studios. We have 2 teen boys... 16 and 18 and we live in Gold River, California. I also have a full-time assistant, Roxy - a 3 year old Yellow Lab.
